Martin Molnár is set to bring his Formula 4 chapter to a close at none other than Brands Hatch, as the Hungarian talent gears up for his final appearance in the category during the season finale of British F4 Championship.

Unlike last year, the championship makes only one stop at the historic Kent-based circuit in 2025. That means this will be Martin’s sole outing at Brands Hatch this season—a track that has previously hosted Formula 1 Grands Prix and holds a special place in British motorsport history. Racing for Virtuosi Racing, the Hungarian Motorsport Academy-backed driver is determined to make the most of his swan song in F4, aiming to end on a high both in terms of results and experience.

“This will be my final race in Formula 4, as we’re stepping up to a new category next year,” said Martin. “Of course, I want to finish this chapter of my career with a strong result and enjoy the last weekend, but to be honest, I haven’t really had the time to reflect on the fact that I won’t be racing in this championship or in these cars anymore. That time will come after the season wraps up. What I can already say is that it hasn’t been a bad year. Sure, things could have gone better in places—we know where we left performance on the table—but right now the focus is forward, not backward.”

Heading into the final round, Martin is tied on points for third place overall with James Piszcyk, both sitting on 257 points. Championship leader Fionn McLaughlin holds a commanding 51.5-point advantage, meaning only a mathematical chance remains for the chasers to snatch the title. Still, Martin remains fully committed to securing runner-up honours in the final standings.

“To perform well at Brands Hatch, we obviously need to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past few weekends. Good pace and a bit of luck will be essential. Unless something truly dramatic happens, we won’t be fighting for the championship anymore. Honestly, for me, whether I finish second or third in the standings doesn’t make much difference—it’s the titles that motivate me. That said, I’ll give it everything I’ve got to secure second place, especially for the team.”

Brands Hatch also holds fond memories for Martin: during his rookie F4 season last year, he clinched the Rookie Cup title at this very circuit. That weekend saw a major step forward in his performance, and since then, the 3.9 km, 9-turn rollercoaster of a track—known for its punishing nature and lack of margin for error—has become one of his more liked places.

“We’ve already tested here this year, so my latest references aren’t just from last season’s race weekend. I feel more and more at home every time I drive here, so hopefully I can take another step forward. The atmosphere is always incredible, whether we’re racing on the Indy or GP layout. For the fans, the forecasted rain might be disappointing—but for us, it could make for a very exciting season finale.”

Following Friday’s free practice sessions, the competitive action kicks off with qualifying on Saturday. Live coverage of all three races will be available on the official British F4 YouTube channel.
