The 2025 British F4 Championship came to a close at Brands Hatch, marking not only the season finale but also the end of Martin Molnár’s campaign in the F4 category. The Hungarian talent concluded the season in third place overall, a historic achievement for Hungarian motorsport – and not for the first time this year.
Martin, racing for Virtuosi Racing, wrapped up his season with an impressive record: 2 race wins, 6 second-place finishes, 2 third places, and 3 pole positions. His consistent front-running pace saw him finish P3 in the overall standings behind champion Fionn McLaughlin and runner-up James Piszcyk. With this result, Martin becomes the highest-finishing Hungarian driver ever in an FIA-sanctioned single-seater series – rewriting the record books once again after previously becoming the first Hungarian to claim a race win and pole position in an FIA series.
Thanks to his third-place finish, Martin also earns seven FIA Super Licence points, making him the first Hungarian driver ever to feature on the official Super Licence points table.
As for the final race weekend at Brands Hatch, he focused on soaking in every moment of his last F4 outing, finishing the three races in P5, P7, and P6, respectively.
“At the start of the season, I would’ve happily taken third place in the championship,” said the Hungarian Motorsport Academy (HMA) driver. “Of course, there were times during the year – especially when I was leading the standings – where I wanted more. But overall, I can’t be disappointed finishing third in such a competitive field. I’d like to congratulate all my rivals – especially Fionn and James. I tried to enjoy my final races, although overtaking was nearly impossible on this track.”
“This weekend also marked my farewell not only to F4, but also to the Virtuosi Racing team – although I hope our paths will cross again in the future,” Martin continued. “I’m incredibly thankful to them. I’ll miss them a lot, and I’ll never forget that they were the team where I truly became a racing driver: I made my single-seater debut with them, won my first race, took my first pole, and became rookie champion last year. These memories will stay with me forever.”
Tamás Pál Kiss, Sporting Director of Motorsport Talent Management (MOTAM), who manages Martin’s career, reflected positively on the season:
“If someone had told me a year ago that Martin would finish third overall, I’d have signed for it immediately. It’s been a great season – with victories and podiums – and he’s achieved a historic result that no Hungarian has before. It’s a milestone that no one can take away from him. While he couldn’t always convert his pace into results, he proved throughout the year that he’s one of the fastest drivers on the grid.”
“He first stepped into a race car just two years ago, and now he’s been fighting for the championship in one of the most competitive junior series. I’m incredibly proud of his performance this season, his maturity, and how he handled the tough moments. I’m also proud to be part of this journey – and I’d like to thank Virtuosi Racing for the last two years.”
“We made the decision early on to race with Virtuosi in British F4 – and looking back, it was absolutely the right call,” added the former driver, who also raced under the Virtuosi banner. “From day one, they treated us as partners and like family. I felt the same mindset and professionalism I experienced with them as a driver over a decade ago, and I’m truly grateful. They delivered flawless work all season – Martin never had to retire due to technical issues, and he had a fast car every weekend. Now it’s time to focus on the next challenge and take the next step.”
