After a month’s break, Martin Molnár competed again in this year’s fourth and final round of the WSK Super Master Series. The Energy Corse driver finished all the Heats and the Pre-Final in the top ten but was off the pace in the Final.

After the European Championship round in Valencia, Martin Molnár raced again in Italy, in Cremona, on a track he had never competed on before. Despite this, the 14-year-old Energy Corse driver showed good pace and started the weekend with two top 10 finishes on Friday: 9th in the first Qualifying session and 8th in the second.

The HUMDA-supported racer kept up his good form on Saturday and the changing weather didn’t stop him either. In the third Heat he finished in 10th position and in the second he was on the podium for a while before finishing fourth.

In the Pre-Final on Sunday, he made a big recovery to keep up his good run but in the Final, for the first time this weekend, he didn’t have the pace to fight for a top ten finish.

‘The Pre-Final went well, although I didn’t get away from two crashes in the best possible way, which dropped me down to 17th. Then I bounced back and finished 9th. Unlike in the Pre-Final, I didn’t have the pace in the Final and we’ll have to analyse the reason for that. The start there was a bit chaotic and then I was involved in big battles, but the pace was missing.’

‘Even though the Final didn’t go well, the rest of the weekend did, so we can build on that and look forward to the next race weekend in Trinec. I’d like to thank Energy Corse for their work, Machac Motors for the well-prepared engine, my team, my partners, my family, MOTAM, HUMDA Academy, my coach Antonio Galluccio and my mechanic Andrea Terron for their support.’

Martin finished 23rd out of 93 competitors in the four-round 2023 WSK Super Master Series and will compete in the second round of this year’s Champions of the Future Euro Series in the Czech Republic from 4 to 6 May.
