After the second race of the Champions of the Future Euro Series, Martin Molnár is back at the European Championships, on the same track where he competed two weeks ago. The Energy Corse driver believes that previous experience will help.
From 19 to 21 May, Trince in the Czech Republic will host the second round of this year’s FIA European Karting Championship. As in the Champions of the Future Euro Series two weeks ago, the Trinec International Steel Ring, making its debut in the continental championship, will provide a challenge for the drivers with its bumpy surface and many corners.
This time, 233 competitors from 59 nations are expected to compete on the 1232-meter asphalt track. In the OK field, which includes Martin Molnár, that means 93 riders, who will be competing on MG tyres and, as usual at the European Championships, with 100% sustainable fuel.
As for the Hungarian Motorsport Academy driver’s expectations, Martin expects to build on the experience of the race weekend two weeks ago.
“This will be our second race here, in Trinec, so everyone knows the track. As far as we’re concerned, with the experience we had two weeks ago, I think our pace will be better because we know exactly what we want to try, we have ideas. We’ll see if they work, let’s hope for the best. I feel that we will be faster than last time,” said the Energy Corse kart racer, looking ahead.
The main part of the race weekend starts on Friday 19 May with qualifying, but there will also be qualifying heats on the same day. As usual, super heats and the final will take place on Sunday.
