The TCR Italy season starts next week, followed by the TCR Europe the weekend after. Levente Losonczy will compete in both series, and at Hungaroring, he will have the opportunity to race against the best in the world, including Norbert Michelisz.

The touring car season is about to start, and Levente Losonczy is taking another step forward in his career. The 20-year-old driver will race in two series this year, the TCR Europe and TCR Italy, under the colors of Aggressive Team Italia. Levente is part of the MOTAM team and he will have the opportunity again this year to compete at his home track, as the TCR Europe series will visit Hungaroring during the season.

In 2022, Levente Losonczy completed three out of six weekends in the TCR Eastern Europe Trophy, earning a total of 18 points. Additionally, he participated in the TCR Europe round at Monza, as well as the TCR Italy rounds at Imola and Vallelunga. In the latter, he also scored points, thanks to a 15th place finish.

This year Levente Losonczy permanently participates in the European and Italian TCR series. He joined Aggressive Team Italia in the middle of the previous season. In 2023 he will represent again the colors of the Italian stable and drive the Hyundai Elantra N, the brand’s most modern gasoline-powered car.

“We completed a comprehensive testing program, my teammates seemed to be a good reference, and the lap times were seem to be competitiveas well, so we look forward to the season with confidence. However, in the extremely strong field with well-prepared opponents, it won’t be easy for us. We will do our best to keep our place in both championships” said Levente Losonczy.

Out of the two series, the TCR Italy will start earlier, with the field competing in Imola next week. Following this, they will visit Vallelunga twice, and after that comes Misano, Mugello, and Monza, before returning to the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit for the season finale between 27 and 29 October.

As for the TCR Europe, it starts one week later on the last weekend of April, but Levente Losonczy will skip the first two rounds at Portimão and Pau as he will be taking his high school final exams. So he will join the field at Spa-Francorchamps, and then compete at other legendary tracks such as Hungaroring, Paul Ricard, Monza, and Barcelona.. The Hungarian weekend is scheduled to take place between 16-18 June, 2023.

In Spa and at the Hungaroring, Levente Losonczy will face an extraordinary challenge and experience, as the newly created TCR World Tour field will also compete on these tracks. The essence of the series is that its pilots participate in a round of various series around the world, rather than having standalone events. This means Levente Losonczy will be on track with the most successful Hungarian touring car driver, Norbert Michelisz, among others, on these occasions and during the first weekend of TCR Italy in Vallelunga.

Good performance this year is not only important for championship standings and future opportunities, but also because of the newly introduced TCR World Ranking, which provides every touring car driver the opportunity to qualify for the World Tour finals. The top 15 drivers in the championship standings, as well as the best 45 drivers in the ranking, will have access to the finals.
